Pramod Sawant on Saturday urged the Union government to cover 100% Ayurveda treatments under medical insurance so that Ayurveda reaches each and every household in the country.

Currently, only a few Ayurveda procedures are covered by a few private medical insurance companies and in case all procedures are covered like other treatments, it will help the people, he said at the Ayurved Parva function at Nagpur.

The chief minister said that the Union Ayush minister can take up this issue and cover all Ayurveda procedures under the Union government’s Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana.
He said that there is a need to have some criteria to identify which procedures can be covered under medical insurance and which doctors are entitled for the same.
